There are so many things swirling around outside in our natural environment that we automatically tune out.

Even when we take 10 minutes to reconvene with Mother Nature (whether we take a quick break away from our desks or duck away from household chores for awhile), we often miss the subtle hum of creatures and wind and leaves as they all flutter in the distance.

It's kind of sad that the most intimate connection that we have to environmental noise is what is emitted from our computers, personal electronic devices or the traffic whirling by.

Berlin-based designer Daniel Dendra distilled the most common external noise that human beings experience, that of the city streets, into his line of remarkable tables.

More specifically, he used sound recordings of bustling Cairo streets to generate highly original wood milling patterns that emulate the undulating nature of water or what wind might look like if you could see it with your own two eyes.

It almost seems a shame that he positions the stunning wood terrain resulting from his sound-experiment on the underside of his tables -- art like that should be displayed loud and proud.

Still, I suppose that it would be tough to NOT shatter all of your wine glasses (no matter how much of a steady hand you exercised) -- perhaps you could DIY the underside of your dish and glassware with recycled wine corks so that they might stay put!

Dendra's highly original designs demonstrate the sheer beauty in things that we normally aren't in tune to -- all we really need to do is take a few moments to look under the surface.
