Graphic novel fans -- I just read that the Super Size Me director (Morgan Spurlock) and his production company are teaming with Dark Horse Comics for an original graphic novel called, "Supersized: Strange Tales From a Fast Food Culture." It's going to be published in Spring 2010. It's meant to be a companion piece to the documentary above. Spurlock will write all of the content in the book, which focuses on bizarre stories about the United States' obsession with fast food. After his film was released, he was inundated with really odd fast food accounts -- such as the story of a fat man whose cremation made a mortuary smell like French fries -- and he thought that some of them so perfectly epitomized our obsession with drive thru food that he just had to record them. Once he commits all of the stories to paper, a mix of established and up-and-coming artists will script and illustrate them. Should make for entertaining, albiet gross, reading.
