We have something very exciting going on this month at Good Things Green Things! September is Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month and we are having a fundraiser for Audri Kate King and www.ladybughugs.org. September 1 through the 30th, 50% of candle sales and 25% of all other sales will be donated to www.ladybughugs.org. We also have a few special gift baskets on this page and 50% of those items will go to Audri's charity as well.
Lady Bug Hugs was created to assist Audri Kate King and her family with their medical bills. Audri was diagnosed at the age of 2 with Embryonic Rhabdomyosarcoma, a very aggressive form of cancer. Audri was complaining of back pain and was taken to the emergency room on Easter Sunday. After being taken to Children's Hospital in Oklahoma City, a scan revealed several tumors. She was diagnosed with Embryonic Rhabdomyosarcoma cancer on April 15, 2010.
With this cancer being so aggressive, treatment will be as well. Audri started her first of many chemotherapy treatments on April 16, 2010. She will have multiple treatments over the next year, several requiring 5 day stays in the hospital. She is an amazingly strong little girl who is fighting like mad to beat this disease. After Audri beats this cancer, Lady Bug Hugs plans to help other familes, hospitals and charities that are fighting childhood cancer.
