I'm looking for any feedback on products people have used to effectively kill fleas and ticks on pets without using those horrible spot chemicals. Anyone?

Have you tried tree tea oil? I add a few drops of it with raw apple cidar vinegar and it works miracles for several things, including flees. I also add some lavedar oil to make the smell tollerable. you can purchase the oils online, or at a near healthfood store.

Rick, we have been looking for something and have not had much luck for our Lab. The problem with the natural stuff I am reading is that it does not kill the eggs. Looks like there is a product opportunity here for someone. Anyway, I did so some research and found that the following works at some level. However it still does not solve the main problem.

"Eucalyptus, fennel, rosemary, rue, wormwood, and yellow dock all seem to act as flea repellents. To make your own herbal flea powder, combine equal amounts of these herbs and mix them well. Sprinkle a small amount of the powder on your dog's coat and massage it in thoroughly, making sure to work it all the way down to the skin. You can also use a drop or two of the essential oils of eucalyptus and rosemary on a plain canvas or fabric-covered collar."

    Good luck.

    Hey Rick,

Well I have heard of pesticide free shampoos and that those might be the best to use on pets with fleas along with using one of those good old flea combs.

Supposedly baking soda and salt dehydrate fleas to help kill them on your carpet and around the house.

    Hope that helps!
