This year's Halloween display at my house featured a full scale Batmobile Tumbler (on top of a PT Cruiser) as the centerpiece, a life sized Batman which slowly turned his head from side to side along with battery operated flying bats and a huge bat signal.  The Batmobile was constructed with salvaged and scrap building materials such as hardboard for the body panels (from an in-store display after they went out of business), used inner tubes for the tires (from eBay), old garbage can lids for the front wheels and a discarded plant holder for the rocket engine.  It also included details like old paint can lids for door handles and windshield wipers from a junk yard.  The Batman costume (for the mannequin I built) and projection light (for custom bat signal) were purchased second hand on eBay.
