Saving the world one small step at a time.

I live a simple lifestyle, I recycle around the house, on a more personal level, I love adapting clothes,and making things, my cushions were made from a sofa throw, it had ripped, so I made two cushion covers from some of it and then the left over material I lined one of my blinds.

Instead of using carrier bags or paper bags, although they can be recycled, I use my own shopping bag.

The shorts, used to be a pair of jeans that my daughter didn't like very much, she wante some shorts to go n a school trip, so I cut them and I embroidered the back pocket, and then added buttons on one of the legs, they look really good on, my daughter loves them, and all her friends and other people always comment on them, and how different they are. and the jacket, was a plain blue jecket, I added some button, I had some blue ribbon, I lined the pockets with it, and I put in around the collar to. I then added shoulder bits to make it look more military style, and now my daughters wears it all the time.

These are just a few of the things I do. my daughter does love it when i adapt her clothes as they make her more unique, and she loves it more because her friends always say how great they are and what a great idea.

It is easy to see things around the home that could be given a new lease of life by adding to it, and it doesn't mean going out and spending lots of money.
