Oh Christmas Tree!

Our new home posed a bit of a holiday challenge this year. It's a live/work loft space in a turn-of-the-century cannery with 19 ft ceilings. The traditional 5-6 ft tree felt like it was going to be a little out of place. So, we created our own with a little elbow grease! Not only does the 10 ft tall tree fit our space well, but it is consistent with our other "reclaimed and re-purposed" home decor. It's natural (maple plywood), non-toxic (VOC free paint), reusable (two pieces that can be taken apart and stored flat), made locally, and allowed us to reuse ornaments we already owned. Even the holes cut out of the plywood were kept and we'll be sanding and decorating those as window ornaments for next year!
