Wreath

My boss was throwing away a large amount of vintage holiday decorations.  I am particularly fond of these classic 70's and 80's decorations as they remind me of Christmas celebrations growing up.  The idea of these items ending up in the trash broke my heart.

I decided to rescue the items from the dumpster and craft them into several "new" decorations for my house this year.  The item I'm most fond of is the wreath I have entered into this contest.  The base for this wreath is a funky, blue-green, tinsel-enhanced, wire frame.  I hot-glued an assortment fabric flowers and plastic holly leaves to the perimeter.  At the base I nestled two cute, little, christmas babes amongst mini gold ornaments and pine cones.  Other highlights include two glittered plastic bucks and a hand-sewn partridge.

Visitors to my house this year were greeted by this festive, saved-from-the-landfill, wreath all season long.  It was a blast to make and I still have a lot of kitschy items leftover for my recycled holiday decorations next year!
