Entry by Julie WilliamsApprentice

This image was taken in Beijing while studying abroad this summer.  It was during a weekend trip to Mount Tai Shan in China.  The man in the image is carrying hundreds of used water bottles that were by people while climbing the thousands of steps up the mountain.  I want to introduce the awareness of water pollution in some countries where sink water are undrinkable and citizens depend on bottled water as their water supply. In addition the used water bottles are collect to support a living for some families in China. It is more importantly that these materials are recycled and reused.

My roommate and I drank a lot of water during this study abroad program, because we were told we shouldn't drink the water from the sink in China :(. At the end of the program we nearly had half as much the man upheld. We knew  that every morning a man came and collected water bottles from garbage can to garbage cans.  We left the surprise right outside the school for him :)

English may or may not be the posters first language, but the spelling/grammar could use some work.

    Terry Ray,

I'm pretty sure the author posted the entry to raise awareness of water pollution and poverty in China. Not so you can criticize her for her 'incorrect' grammar use.
