This summer I told my husband we are not using any chemicles or man made fertilizers on our expanded garden.  Everything turned out just as good as the previous years and we will never use any sort of those nasty fertilizers again!  :)

I also got my husband to go more organic than we've ever been before.  We are eating all organic fruits and veggies, milk, grass fed beef, free range/organic chickens and their eggs.  We also shop the local farmers market to support the farmers who home grown produce when in season.

My husband rides his bike three days a week to work (22 miles one way) which saves on gas and wear and tear on the car.  I enjoy riding my bike whenever possible too when for the exercise when the kids are in school.  I am a stay at home mom but just started working a part time job at a health club to take advantage of the free employee  membership when I can't ride my bike.

I never buy (and haven't in a few years now, used any conventional cleaners.  I am always looking out for my families health and safety and believe all those cleaners are bad for the earth.  We only use non toxic and biodegradable products or I'll make some of my own too.

I hang my laundry to dry when it's not raining Spring thru Fall.  I've even got my husband doing it now too ever since he has seen the energy bill go drastically down by not using the dryer.  It's amazing how much we save by not using the dryer plus hanging saves on wear on the clothes which also also saves us money on not buying new clothes all the time.

This summer, my kids and I went to a local lake that the shoreline was fairly polluted and we cleaned up along the shore line.  They had a lot of fun doing it and I felt good about doing something to clean up the water front too, knowing that the garbage wasn't going to get into our lake and some of it potentially kill the fish in the lake that many people rely on for their families food during the year.

I would like to conserve and protect the earth so that it is safe for generations to come.  Hopefully more consumers will figure this out as the the years go by that the chemicle  smell does not mean clean.
