It has become apparent to me, that even if we stop our drilling ways the pipelines will still exist. Thus in turn, nature will corrupt such equipment. This problem starts in the heart of the people of earth. Do we continue using this messy method of life? We depend so much on immanent disaster. I would urge people to seek alternative clean energies. If I were the CEO of BP, I would ensure no end to funding for research and development of a never ending array of oil spill containment and clean up technology.
Furthermore, leading into a clean energy revolution, we should put into action the dismantling of most oil drilling and refining facilities. Let's face it. We have the technology. All we need to do is put the cogs into motion. This isn't only an oil company problem. This is a human life style problem. We need to actively change this together. I beg you as a fellow earth citizen. If we don't use the oil they will have no reason to pump as much. Think of how great it would be if we could live lifestyles that don't demand crippling the planet earth. I urge we change.

Changing habits are not easy, especially when the price one pays for the gasoline usage is so minimal compared to the harm it creates to the atmosphere. Our impulses for instant gratification and excessive consumerism are the major cause of over exploiting the natural resources. Prudent use and conservation of the resources is the way out of this mess. Otherwise our grand children are going to bear the brunt of the catastrophic out comes.
