HomeGain is proud to support the cause of raising earth preservation awareness and Green efforts within the real estate community. In a multi-billion dollar industry, where real estate touches each and every person, encouraging a change in behavior could ultimately have a large impact. The goal of any movement is the collective result - that small changes will make a big difference. Imagine the impact of even a small percentage of the 50 million homes for sale across the nation if they were to have Green aspects incorporated!

Although the Green movement within real estate is still at the tip of an iceberg, HomeGain is aiming at the source: Realtors. By helping provide ideas, HomeGain hopes to inspire Realtors to make changes in the way they conduct business so they may help their clients make Greener and more sustainable choices.

It is clear that Realtors have a wide range of influence. Realtors can make Greener choices in their office. Realtors can choose Green vendors, home stagers, suppliers and contractors to work with for new and resale homes. Realtors can advise their homeowner clients on home improvements to make before they put their house on the market so it appeals to home buyers and results in a potentially higher sale price. Realtors can advise home buyer clients on what to look for when home searching and what changes to make to the home once they buy.

To support the Realtor voice, HomeGain has recently surveyed nearly 1,000 agents to find out the top Green home improvements home sellers should make to a home before selling it. The survey results will show the average cost of Green home improvements by region of the country, the value each will have on the home's value, the return on investment, and the number of Realtors who recommend them to their clients. Results will be displayed on HomeGain's Home Sale Maximizer page, www.homegain.com/sellertools, in December 2009. The survey results also will affect and be embraced by home stagers who are in support of being Green.

HomeGain is Green Office Certified and applies Green business practices whenever possible. To learn more about HomeGain Green Real Estate for Realtors, visit www.homegain.com/green-real-estate.
