Hello, I'm Emily Polk, and these are your CSR Minute headlines for Friday, June 4th:
Entropy Solutions, a thermal technology development company, has been awarded "Diamond" honors, the highest award level, for its Greenbox Thermal Management System. Greenbox won the 22nd Annual DePont Award for Packaging Innovation by "demonstrating excellence in innovation, sustainability, and cost/waste reduction." The Greenbox system uses Entropy Solutions' technology to keep temperature-sensitive products at a consistent temperature for more than five days, and has revolutionized the cold chain-shipping industry.
The Asian Development Bank will administer a $3 million dollar grant from the Japan Fund for Poverty Reduction to help women entrepreneurs in India. The money will provide financial resources and market opportunities to women whose businesses have outgrown traditional microfinance support but who are unable to access more conventional bank financing. The grant will train up to 1,200 low-income women entrepreneurs in financial literacy, business management, and assist the Small Industries Development Bank of India and its partner microfinance institutions to review and revise their gender policies and practices.
