Models helped celebrate Earth day by participating in a "Fashion Foliage" show in Los Angeles Friday (April 22) afternoon. The models donned nothing but leaves and flowers as they paraded on the runway holding water bottles also made of plant materials.
The fashion show was sponsored by The Coca-Cola Company, parent company to Dasani water, in celebration of their newest creation. The company presented an eco-friendly water bottle made with 30 percent plant based materials. The plant bottle is designed to promote eco-friendly living and encourage water bottle users to recycle.
Matthew Morrison, star of the hit television show "Glee," hosted the event. The actor was excited about hosting the event and hoped it would help people be more aware about conservation efforts.
"I feel like Earth day is a special day that people would try to conserve a little bit more but I think we just need to drill it into people's consciousness that Earth day should be every day," says Morrison. "It's really important for us, as a race, to continue to be good to this planet."
Crowds of onlookers cheered as the models presented dresses created by noted fashion designer Yotam Solomon, who constructed the outfits on site, just before the show took place.
