Eco Lips Product Review

EcoLips_FaceStick.jpgEco Lips, sent Greenwala, a sampling of their lip and sunscreen products for us to review.  We began with the Face Stick, which has an SPF of 30.  When applied the sunscreen goes on easily but with a slightly greasy feel to it.  Don’t be alarmed though because it actually smoothes out quickly and leaves your face feeling moisturized as well.  The idea of a stick is relatively new to the sunscreen market, having only been around for a handful of years.  The design of the stick is useful and they added this very convenient loop cap with a carabineer attached which makes it easy to take on a purse, stroller, backpack, brief case, pool bag etc.   This loop cap and carabineer can be popped off of an old face stick and reused on another one.  In a smaller package with the same cap design is the coconut lip balm.  It reminds me of sipping a yummy pina colada on a beautiful tropical beach.  But back to reality, the lip balm is organic and made using ingredients that I recognize such as Sunflower seed oil, beeswax, coconut flavor etc.  In case you are not a fruity drink person the lip balms do come in several other varieties.  Do be aware that depending on which you pick up they can range in the percentage of organic ingredients.  They have a sports lip balm with an spf of 30, a vegan lip balm and many others to choose from.

EcoLIps_Tints.gifOne item they sent that I was very intrigued with are their ecotints.  They are a ‘90% organic naturally glistening lip moisturizer’.  Ours arrived in a 3 pack with a nice variety of colors.  We found that with the tints they do moisturize but like with any lip product a little blending creates a better look.  The thing that we loved most about these tints is that in the event that we ingest some of these lip products, the ingredients are natural enough that they should not cause us any harm.  Overall we were impressed with Eco Lips products and would recommend them to our community.  You can check out their products at http://www.ecolips.com/

Wow this seems like a great product!

Thanks for the review, I will definitely have to check them out. Love the idea of the loop cap and clip, perfect for taking it to the pool or beach.

I've read a few articles on Greenwala about the problems associated with conventional lipstick such as this one (http://www.greenwala.com/community/blogs/all/1158-Not-So-Fast-Are-You-Really-Sure-You-Want-To-S-W-A-K ) and ever since reading about how to make your own liptint with beet root powder (http://www.greenwala.com/community/blogs/all/377-I-Scream-You-Scream-We-All-Scream-For-Beety-Cheeks) I've been mixing it up myself. While I love knowing that I'm in control of the ingredients and that they are totally natural, my homemade lip balm is unfortunately a little messy and it's not ideal while on the road. I'll check out EcoLips during my lunchbreak -- thanks for the heads-up!

I would like to try the face stick as well. It would be perfect to an outdoor person :)
