Hello Fellow Greenwala's, Chief Wala here. I want to take a moment and welcome you to an important day. The launch of the new Greenwala.com.

Back in April of last year we launched Greenwala in a public beta. Since then, we have seen the Greenwala Nation grow from a handful of people to thousands that want to be greener or help others on their journey. We now have over 10,000 pages of content on the site, over 1,400 videos, and an event section that has over 700 past, present and future green events. In addition, we have done marketing campaigns that have driven nearly 1 million engagements for our partners. All of this has been made possible by a great team and members like Eliza Leigh, Justine Suh, Willi Paul and more! On behalf of the Greenwala team, thank you for helping us build the community and for allowing us all to Live Life Greener.

As a team, we have not been idle. Over the past 8 months we took feedback from members, partners and stakeholders on how we could be better. Today is the result from all of that feedback, the many calls some of you have had with me and the many messages to us on Twitter, Facebook and here on Greenwala about what you want to see on the site and what you want to see on a new Greenwala.
So, allow me to officially welcome you to the new Greenwala! Here is a synopsis of what we have done:

.• A complete redesign of the site from the home page all the way to individual profiles
• Introduced new features like the new Q&A section that is powered by you
• A new welcome video shot by Instinct Productions head David Murphy
• New branding and logo from good friend and 4th degree Tae Kwon Do Master Doug Wong
• Better organization of content from news, to groups, to events and new channels
• A more intuitive search engine that allows you to search and then filter results based on your liking
• A formal blogger/writer program - Yes, We Want You to write for us.

However, the most important thing we are launching is our new Points For People program. We wanted to reward you for being a member of Greenwala Nation and for interacting and engaging with your fellow community members as well as encourage you to get more of your friends and family involved. As of today, you will now earn points and level up (like in a video game). At different levels, you will receive different badges and see your point totals. In fact, you can always see other members totals just by mousing over the leaf next to their name. So why is this so cool you ask? Well, we will also monetize those points so that you can work with us to fund socially responsible programs like Kiva, plant trees or donate to a pre-approved cause. To learn more, please visit the Get Points section of the site. Why did we do this? We wanted to make sure that people understand that Green is more than just dealing with Global Warming. At its core we believe that Going Green is about doing good. So we wanted to help in that effort by rewarding you for your efforts in helping us build this great community.

We are not stopping with what you see here. Over the next couple of months, you will see a new petition section go live and some other new features that I can't talk about right now.

Thanks again for your help, support and feedback. Special thanks to the team and SparkTech technology development team led by our CTO Cosmin Andriescu. As always, we want to hear from you. Please feel free to email me directly at RK [@] Greenwala.com.

---Chief Wala, Rajeev Kapur

I very much like the new format. It is very comprehensive in its coverage of the wide range of materials/information. The information placement/search is also very much streamlined and is easier to get to. The points/rewards system is also a very attractive feature. All the best to the Chiefwala, in his endeavor to help educate, interact, net-work, and help the world to be a more sustainable place for our future generations to enjoy the goodness of life. GREAT SITE.
