Onesta Organics

My comany is the first and (amazingly) still the only both certified organic and Green America-approved pet food comany in the USA.
My goal, as founder and CEO of Onesta Organics, is to change the pet food industry into an industry which provides products that are both healthy for pets and the environment (in my view, both go hand in hand, and one can't be without the other).
Early on, my young company inspired big, already pretty good companies to do better, and not so good, but bigger companies than mine, to at least think about doing better than they did before.
Aside from inspiring real or want-to-be competition, our main goal is to make enough money to continue our vision to support animal health and the wallets of their guardians (prevention can't beat any medial treatment) while being gentle on the planet.
My company believes in organic certification and its associated full traceablility and disclosure of ingredients and used manufacturing processes (pets' guardians deserve to know what they put into their pets' stomachs). Organic certification is today the only way to guarantee most of the abundantly used pet food claims. It also assures that the used ingredients and the consumer products aren't contaminated by health and environmental toxins (such as toxic sanitizers, pesticides or fumigants in the production facility, ingredient storage areas, or warehouses).
We believe that foods that are closest to nature are the best commercial / convenience foods available. We don't believe in excessive processing (such as high heat treatments or using 'refined' ingredients). We believe that food-based nutrients are more potent than synthetic supplements. We don't believe in tricking pets into liking or craving for foods they shouldn't eat by including unhealthy ingredients in our products (e.g., artificial or allergenic flavors, sweeteners such as honey, ect.).
We believe that spreading educational information about healthy feeding options for pets will help spread the word about healthy eating habits of humans (that's why we maintain our blog.) This information will eventually lead to increased knowledge and awareness about healthy and more environmentally sensible food choices of the humans behind the pet. In the end, humans, pets, and the environment should be better off.
