The Top 8 Bike-Bonkers Cities Taking Green Commuting To An All Time High

Thanks once again to the cool people over at Good Magazine's graphic design department (and Chris Korbey), they've come up with a visual reminder of who reigns supreme in terms of pedaling across North America.

While squeaky green Portland comes as no surprise, Minneapolis is huffing and puffing behind them at a very respectable 3.8%, which to be honest made me raise an eyebrow.

If there are any Minneapolytes in the house, please feel free to fill us in on how your city ended up becoming so fond of cruising the streets via two wheels -- I had no idea...

In fact, if any Greenwalas hail from Portland, Minneapolis, Vancouver, San Francisco, Toronto, Washington D.C., Chicago or New York City, I'd really appreciate it if you would take a few minutes to share your perception of how thriving your city's green transportation aspirations are.

Do you think that any city was jipped? Personally, I've heard that the residents of Boulder, Colorado are avid cyclists and they haven't even gotten so much as an honorable mention!

I wonder what the top reasons are that people don't use cycling as a main form of transportation...any guesses?
