Changing the color of brick on my house

The front of my house has red brick on the bottom 2 feet of the walls. We're thinking of ripping it out. Staining it would probably have a lower environmental impact than replacing it. What are some tasteful alternatives to the red brick I currently have? Our outside decor colors are beige and white.
