Do Any Of Us Really Understand How To Reduce Our Daily C02 Output?

Posted by Linda LucilleUser2449_level, Tuesday, August 25 2009, 09:08 PM

It's hard to turn a blind eye to all of the green-themed tchotchkes that are being manufactured these days -- some are entirely novel (like this wind powered car hood bling), some kind of practical (like these fallen branch coat hanger hooks) and some phenomenally gotta have it (like the Flow2 Kitchen Composting All-In-One Station).

Honestly though, it seems a little counterproductive (to the green movement) that manufactureres continue to make STUFF for us to buy...shouldn't they just take a breather and stop tempting us with more store bought trinkets that we really don't need?

How many mugs do you already have tucked away in your cupboards -- 8, 10, 13??

Ahhhh, yes, but none of them are painted with heat-reacting pigments that indicate the largest CO2 offenders on the planet.

Spinning Hat sells these heat reacting global warming offender CO2 Mugs for $13.10 USD/7.99GBP via their online storefront.

While it's not really funny to make light of a very troubling situation, owning one of these drinking receptacles could theoretically help us to keep our green goals in mind with every sip of java or tea...but WOULD IT?

Looking at the mug to the far right (in the US zone), it's easy to see that the US is lit up like Rudolph's big red nose.

I wonder how many of us really understand how to reduce our carbon footprint on a daily basis, though.

So, I'm sending it out to the Greenwala community -- please chime in on the most reliable ways that you know of to curb the amount of carbon we generate.

Simple ideas, complex ideas -- they're all fair game! The whole point of this discussion topic is to learn from each other and hopefully grow as individuals.
