My message

My message to the UN and IPCC would be that Global Warming is a natural event and the swings we have seen recently are pathetic compared to those seen in the Middle Ages or Renaissance. The often quoted 2 degree increase over the last hundred years mostly happened before the industrial revolution and therefore is not the result of man made carbon. man made carbon pales in comparison to the carbon released by dying vegetation, volcanoes, and animal feces. The staggering rise of carbon is a result of the temperature increase, not the other way around. Furthermore I would like the IPCC to recognize the true opinions of those scientists they include as authors of their report not ignore them and ad them to the authors list to pump up the numbers. This is not to say that renewable energy is bad but if the Global Warming theory is indeed false, methods like carbon offset and carbon taxing would be pointless and we would not be restricting developing nations from using the natural resources below their feet. There is plenty of information out their on the falsities of the theory and is is just being propagated by the media, governments, and funded scientific studies. This information was learned from Channel 4's 'The Great Global Warming Swindle" The full documentary is viewable here: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=6088439573567170986&q=source:016460090599868450687&hl=en in the interest of full disclosure, this is an article debunking the documentary. not being a scientist i do not know what is truth but i have heard reports of fabricated data on both sides of the argument (besides this doc itself) http://www.durangobill.com/Swindle_Swindle.html you are free to make up your own mind but i am happy to provide the information that i have.

There are other reasons to move away from fossil fuels besides the threat of climate change. What about the fact that we import 68% of our oil and a large portion of those petrodollars go to countries whose governments don't like us very much? Coal mining involves mountaintop removal, releases mercury when it's burned and contributes to childhood asthma. Wouldn't you rather use electricity more efficiently and get the electricity we need from locally abundant, renewable resources?
