My thought is that he probably ate too much tuna, other fish used in sushi such as salmon, eel, squid, octopus, etc; don't contain enough mercury to get sick from even when eaten in large amounts. I personally eat sushi (high quality) 4-5 times a week and I've never been sick, tuna on the other hand only gets eaten every other week with me. Its recommened that tuna should not be eaten more than once or twice a week, and yes this includes the canned stuff too. So there's my two cents. :)
