Green appliances will never win in the marketplace unless they can out perform the competition. It would be lovely if people were invested enough in the survival of their planet/children to purchase and use electronics that were designed to be more environmentally conscious, but it simply isn’t happening at the rate it needs to. It’s also not uncommon to have people reject green appliances because they associate them with evil, snobby, leftist commie bastards (like yours truly). The truth is, no one is going to buy anything because it’ll help them sleep at night. Green electronics have got to win the functionality battle, not the morality battle.

Here's one that does just that. Check out the “InCharge Battery Station”, a battery recharger designed by Pensa (Pensanyc.com), which sorts and recharges all major types of batteries without forcing the user to open the device and move things around manually. You drop in any kind of battery (AAA, AA, C, D) and the InCharge shifts it into the proper slot, then begins charging. When it’s done, it turns itself off, and stops sucking power from your home.

A finalist in the Greener Gadget awards held this year in New York, the InCharge is a relatively simple device that outperforms all the clunky battery rechargers that you have to open, close, unplug, feed, water, and take-out. Most rechargers only hold a few batteries at once. The InCharge holds dozens. With most, you fit two batteries in, wait for them to recharge, then put two more in. It’s a slow horrible process that requires you to be there for every change-over. With the InCharge, you dump in handfuls at a time, then walk away and let it do its thing. It sorts, recharges, and turns itself off. It isn’t just greener, it’s better. And it isn’t just better for the planet either, it’s better for you in your actual day-to-day life.
Will the InCharge save the world? Yes. But not right away. It still needs endless promotion, and to be put on the market. When it is, attack your friends who don’t have one, not because they aren’t being green, but because they don’t have the coolest, newest thing, with the most functions. Let’s show the world what peer pressure can do.

All is not lost for the Greens, and some of them intend large profits from the changing tides of time, in America, the world, Asia, and afoot today! I see communal purchases of Wind Turbines by off-grid communities, and more folk forced off-grid by rising energy costs! A trend towards smaller, highly insulated, practical sized domiciles will over-come the SUV, suburban, McMansion impracticalities and very soon!
Communal efforts, groups bound by simple contracts, even communistic where necessary for survival may evolve in rebellion to the Corporatists iron-fisted grip on even our governing bodies with their powerful lobbies! Green will survive, politically and through education and technologies applied - in spite of the Corporatists evil patent manipulations! Backing this statement, Google, torrent, the movie, "Who Stole The Electric Car". These same bastards patented food! seeds, pigs! goddammit! it's gotta stop!
Pressure from a burgeoning Asia on the American reality will form American Dreams to come - not Hollywood's wildest dreams and the corporatist propaganda machine as before, but a true seeking for more sustainability more security and durability in purchases for the average American! We have been screwed so tightly as to have lost our old age security in the richest country in the world! Americans have no universal health care - they are the only ones in the modern industrial complex to suffer so! The have been duped by the Corporatists strong propaganda machine into self-sacrifice and self denial in the name of free enterprise and a Capitalism that guarantees them nothing more than part-time slavery at low wages while consuming mostly shoddy Asian goods - even our cars are designed by Asians ans sooner than we will like, built in China!
The Off-grid folks, hiding behind arms and a wall of secrecy are soon to be joined by many disgruntled intellectuals who upon losing faith in the corrupt corporatist system will join with them as a force to be reckoned with even for the governments! Civil limitations will be over thrown, civil laws repealed, patent laws will be laughed at, and the current establishment will be confronted in all ways possible!
Yes Darlings! A more Utopian society is not only technologically possible, but likely, as the current system consistently undermines itself with greed and nonsense logic of the Corporatist psychotic. The Greens, realists and likely communal will prevail and humanity will be better served.
Beware the Chinese nuclear/electricity powered electric bullet train networks and their ensuing infrastructures! The answer many questions for mankind's future and they do it oil free and on a diet of veggies and rice! they are beilng duplicated all over Asia as we speak! They will come to the U.S.A. and bring with them and anti-corporatist power like none before! They encourage group participation and rely on large populations with higher fecudicity rates tha the North American can provide!
China will mass produce the batteries - lithium based, the chargers, and the gadgets to use the batteries in, for the great hulking north American neanderthal and his off-spring - they will work in the mines with their backs, hue the trees and draw the water for a few pennies to spend on the great intellectual expansion in Asia - We are doomed to underling positions by our corpoartist philosophies and suffer for them! Go Green be free!
