The 90s cartoon series for children Captain Planet will be coming to big screen near you and will not be animated. Yup, the Cartoon Netowrk is in talk with the producers of the Transformers to create a live action movie of the series.
Captain Planet followed a group of young children called The Planeteers that could call upon Captain Planet to fight against eco villains. With climate change a big topic, natural disasters making headlines regularly and the push for clean technology there is a good possibility that this movie could actually make it to the big screen.
Of course it is currently in the early stages of pre production and there have not been any official announcements, but it would be interesting to see what route the movie would take.
Would it become a commercialized big blockbuster summer movie or a movie really targeted at youth to promote living a eco-friendly lifestyle?
What if a real eco warrior like Leonardo DiCaprio was picked to play Captain Planet would it make a difference?
