Kids Konserve introduced our 2011 Eco-Resolutions in January.  On the eco-resolution list we introduced the "5th R - REMEMER".   We feel this has potential to be THE most important "R".  Recycling, Reducing, Reusing, and Reconstituting all are a moot point if we do not REMEMBER to do it!  Throughout the year I will be writing and giving tips and suggestions to help each and every one of us REMEMBER to focus on our ‘R's.

The first ‘R' to REMEMBER is REUSE.   REUSE is a step up from recycling.  It is the middle man between reduce and recycle.  Most of us want to REMEMBER to bring our REUSABLE BAGS.

When I GOOGLE "Plastic Bags" these are some of the images that came up.

I fall victim to forgetting my reusable bags once in awhile and I dread that I am 1 of many - About 1 million plastic bags are used every minute.  A recent PBS show estimated that as many as 1,000,000 birds and 100,000 marine mammals die each year from eating or ingesting our plastic bags, bottle caps, and debris.

SIMPLE THINGS YOU CAN DO

Think twice about taking a plastic bag if your purchase is small and easy to carry.

Keep REUSABLE bags in your home, office, and car so you always have them available when
you go to the supermarket or other stores.

Ask your favorite stores to stop providing bags for free, or to offer a discount for not using the
            bags.

Encourage your local politicians to introduce legislation taxing or banning plastic bags.
(Click here to see how many cities have adopted a plastic bag ban).

Kids Konserve joins the fight against plastic disposable bags and now offers more reusable products!

It's a lifestyle and a stylish one.
