Lessons We Learn By Seeing Celebrities Without Makeup

Kim-Kardashian-Without-Makeup.jpgIt's tough for girls to grow up in this society with a strong respect for their natural beauty.  Everywhere we turn we are inundated with models and celebrities covered in makeup and airbrushed.  It's hard to know what they really look like.

That's why I love articles showing celebrities without their makeup on.  I don't enjoy the ones that are intended to embarrass the celebrity by showing them looking ridiculous or crazy.  Those are just mean, and actually reinforce the belief that we need to wear makeup to look beautiful.  I do however, love the pictures of celebrities going about their daily errands sans makeup.

When we see these pictures I think we can learn a couple of things:

1.  Without makeup celebrities look just like us - It takes a lot of effort, product and money to make them look the way we are used to them looking.  The first time I saw an article that showed numerous celebrities in their natural state, without their hair and makeup done I realized there's nothing special about them.  They look just like us normal people.  They have many of the same issues we have, like red blotches, blemishes, bags under their eyes, etc.  What they have that we don't is a team of experts and lots of money to cover all that up.  But, they are no more beautiful than we normal people are.

2.  Many celebrities look better without makeup than they do with it.  When you see many celebrities, especially those who've earn a reputation as bombshells, like Pamela Anderson or Kim Kardashian, without their makeup you see a fresh-faced, natural beauty, much better than the painted face we see every day.  You start to realize just how artificial makeup makes them look.  I'll never forget the first time I saw a picture of Pamela Anderson without makeup.  Her skin glowed, she had freckles, and a beautiful smile.  All of that gets lost under the layers of makeup.

So quit trying to look like the people in the magazines and on the red carpets.  That's not real.  Their real beauty shows in their everyday lives.

Nice thoughts! I agree with you when it comes to artificial make-up or even plastic surgery, especially on celebrities. Looking at the ad pictures in magazines this becomes even worse, because of tons of photo retouching. In my opinion the make-up should enhance the natural beauty and not mask the real personality. The first that has to become aware about this fact are the readers who think that the celebrities and models look always great. They are just normal people as everyone of us. I can say this from my own experience while working with models and some celebrities. So, be happy just as you are:) The real beauty comes from inside and it reflects on the outside.
