Introducing the Greenwashing Hall of Shame

nogreenwashers-300x300.jpgRecent studies have shown that the while most of the economy is still in a recession the green economy is growing.  Families are cutting back where they can, but they are not cutting back on their organic food and skin care.  This is because they do not see these items as luxuries, but rather as necessities.

With the economy in a recession and medical care getting worse and worse, people are finding it more important than ever to protect their own health, and they are doing this by prioritizing their food and personal care products, two areas where we can have a lot of control over the toxins we are exposed to and two areas where we can easily and regularly vote with our dollars by choosing the types of products that meet our values and reflect the kind of world we want to raise our children in.

Large corporations see this happening and are doing everything they can to jump on the "green" bandwagon.  Some are making real substantive changes, more are making small token changes and them marketing the heck out of them, making themselves seem greener, healthier, more sustainable & eco-friendly than they really are.

While consumers have more all natural and organic options to choose from than ever, greenwashing is also increasing.  I've written about it many times here, and will continue to do so.  In an effort to bring together people who are fighting greenwashing and people who want to learn more about companies that are greenwashing, I created a facebook page called the Greenwashing Hall of Shame.  This page will give those of us who are passionate about this topic a place to gather and discuss.  It will give consumers a place to come and read about greenwashing companies and ask questions when they can't tell if a company's green claims are valid.

Please join us on the Greenwashing Hall of Shame, and be sure to subcribe to the Greenwala Beauty Channel RSS feed so you don't miss a single article as we out the greenwashing companies and help families make informed decisions about the products they bring into their home.
