3 Green Beauty Bloggers I love

There are lots of green beauty bloggers out there.  Some believe in green beauty products, but know very little about ingredients and often just repost the marketing information from the companies they are reviewing or discussing.  I like writers who really understand which ingredients are dangerous and who write their own educated reviews of products or can discuss a company or issue with some knowledge behind it.

Here are 3 green beauty bloggers I love:

71977_148784491831535_107904852586166_243489_3573083_n.jpgCrunchy Betty - I discovered Crunchy Betty last year when this article she wrote about being a plus sized model, about hating her body because it isn't a size 0 like the super models in all the magazines, went viral.  It is really powerful.  And, it was a happy surprise for me to discover she is from the next town over.  I haven't been able to meet her in person yet, but I'm sure I will soon.  Crunchy Betty writes about DIY beauty products.  Want to make your own lip balm or mask, or want a fun project to do with your kids? This is the place to go.

GOGGirl-1_black_frame.jpgGlamorganic Goddess - Glamorganic Goddess is a girly girl who believes you don't need to be the stereotypical tree hugger to be green.  She loves her beauty products and is an advocate for truly safe, nontoxic products.  She is also a cancer survivor, and like every other cancer survivor I know, she is strong and has zero tolerance for companies who make a profit off of making people sick.

If you are in New Jersey or know someone who is, Danielle's family is having a fundraising dinner to help her pay for her cancer treatments.  To me it is a total failure of our society that anyone would have to do a fundraiser to stay alive, especially from a disease that is caused by corporations polluting our bodies and environment for profit.  I'm in Colorado so I can't go, but I'll do my best to tell EVERYONE I know about this fundraiser to help her out.  Please do the same.

Toxic Beauty Blog - I met Toxic Beauty on Twitter.  She is another blogger with zero patience for greenwashing and pinkwashing.  She started looking at ways to live a greener life when her mother was diagnosed with ovarian cancer 12 years ago and hasn't looked back since.  She really researches ingredients and isn't afraid to take on the emotionally charged subjects like pinkwashing and she isn't afraid of outing companies who's products aren't what they say they are.

All 3 of these women have my mad respect.  I find them to be knowledgable, honest and have integrity in their writing and the products they review (if they review).  We may not always agree 100%, but we sure do most of the time and I think more people should be reading them.

There's one other blogger I'd like to give an honorable mention.  I don't give her an honorable mention because she's not as good as the other 3 because she most certainly is, but because toxic beauty isn't her main focus, although it is something she writes about.

130509493.JPGCinco Vidas writes about self-care and caring for others through cancer.  She is a cancer survivor herself and also cared for her father as he suffered from cancer.  She writes not just about avoiding toxins (although she does this very well) but also how to care for yourself or your loved ones both physically and emotionally during cancer.  In fact, she just publised a book called When Cancer Hits.  She is most definitely one of my favorite bloggers and the 1st person I would turn to if (heaven forbid) I or anyone I know should ever be diagnosed with cancer.
