Growing up, I can remember many amazing meals with family and friends. The traditional table at our home was filled with plates from one end to the other. Many brought by friends and others made together. Either way, the table was the place for us all to come together, to laugh, to eat and share in each others lives.
As you set your own table, what are the traditions that string your celebrations together? Here is one idea that I thought would add a bit of color, light and not break the bank.
Step 1 - Choose your favorite shade of apple, pumpkin or squash
Step 2 - Find a set of natural beeswax candles in the right size for your chosen fruit. ( I recommend beeswax because it has a clean burn and lasts a lot longer than other candles)
Step 3 - Use a corer or sharp edge spoon to scoop out right amount of fruit flesh for your candle.
Step 4 - As an option you can line the scooped hole with a bit of recycled aluminum to catch any wax.
Step 5 - Use a base such as a chopping block, natural stone or simply a beautiful platter to gather the fruit on your table.
Step 6- Enjoy!
