I am so excited that it's nearly Farmer's Market season in my town. As a foodie, a mama, a locavore and an ardent supporter of organic farmers, I am always looking for the best resources for local, organic, yummy  food. Regardless of where you live, there are resources that can help you go organic, eat healthy and support the small farmer. Whether you're looking for a Farmer's Market, CSA (community-supported agriculture) or or free-range meat, you can find it online. If you need to drive many miles to get there, think about ride-sharing with a few friends to share the journey and the expense. Here are some amazing resources I found by Tabitha Alterman in Natural Home Magazine:

Find The Best Of Organics On The Web

  • LocalHarvest.org - Local CSA, co-op, or Farmer's Market

  • EatWild.com - for grass-fed meat and dairy products

  • RealMilk.com - raw milk resources and information

Find The Best Of Organics On Your iPad, iPod or iTunes

  • Locavore - This application will let you find your local Farmer's Market, find out what's in season and pick up some great recipes. $2.99

  • IFarmMarket - With this application you can connect to and get schedules for nearly 5,000 farmer's markets across the country. $.99

  • HarvestMarket Food Traceability - With this app you can actually trace the source of your food using your camera phone to scan the codes on hundreds if millions if fresh food items. Free

  • Pickin' Chicken App - This app will give you the down-low on raising backyard chickens, learn about 75 different breeds of chickens and find the right clucker for you. $2.99

Enjoy the Spring!!!
