Just so you’re clear on something, we’re not eco-experts by any means. Some of us may seem dialed into the green scene a bit more than most, but don’t forget that this is a community – and we are just as interested in reading about your thoughts and opinions as we are about sharing the latest, greatest eco-news-byte or tried-and-true green tip. For others, ‘being green’ may be a steadfast tradition that was passed onto them by their wacky tree-hugging uncle, or something that made sense to them ever since the birth of their first child. It can also be a distinct and unwavering state of mind, a quiet sensibility, an ‘everyone-is-doing-it-so-why-shouldn’t-I?’ action that ripened over time into a habit, or a ‘this-just-feels-right-to-me’ declaration.
There are so many degrees of green, but in my opinion, one is not superior over another. Becoming more in touch with the needs of Mother Nature is noble, any way you slice it. In our day and age, it is a necessary but still fulfilling pursuit. If you are making a conscious effort to shift your mindset and lifestyle habits, even if those cumulative efforts at this point in time amount to nothing more than running errands via bike and line-drying your laundry, we still applaud you. Yes, what you’re doing DOES matter, even if it is somewhat small, and who knows – you might just incorporate a few additional changes along the way as you interact with greater frequency in this community. No matter what, it's your decision to make.
The fact that we’ve gained community members because they want to become involved in something potentially more inspiring, exciting, purposeful and mind-changing -- or even just cooler than what’s already out there in cyberspace – well, that’s what this forum is all about. We all have the power to make as small or as grand an eco-impact as we desire, but no one shakes their head disapprovingly regarding the path that you choose because we’re all striving to reach a common goal -- to enlighten and educate each other, and most importantly, to grow as individuals. Imagine if, through our activities on this social network, we could all sow seeds that would spring forth the renewal of the planet that we share? I personally believe that this is a very legitimate, obtainable reality. Who's on board? I'd love to hear your thoughts........
