The UAE Environment and Water Ministry organized an international Energy Efficiency conference on April 14, 2010.
The Emirates Authority for Standardization and Metrology (ESMA) organized the meet to educate key stakeholders on details of certification and featured speakers from the U.S., Australia, and Korea, among others, to give information and guidance to manufacturers and sellers.
On this occasion, ESMA announced its new energy efficiency labeling and standards scheme, an important step to make the UAE an energy efficient country.
Given the overall consumption of electricity in the UAE, particularly through air-conditioning usage, the scheme will make great strides to reduce the environmental impact of electrical usage by consumers and businesses.
