Green Gadget of the Week: Zombie Wine Stopper

Hand-crafted zombie wine bottle stopper

It's almost the weekend baby. That means that many of us will turn to our favorite adult beverages to help wash away the stress of the previous week. If your vice of choice happens to stem from the grape, then you know the importance of keeping a bottle of wine fresh after you've popped the cork (unless you're planning on drinking the whole bottle you lush).

I've always thought it was boring to stick the regular cork right back in the bottle, or worse, some cheesy monogrammed bottle stopped et all. What you need is a device that tells those folks drinking with you, "hey, this guy is really something special." You especially need something that makes this statement if your favorite wine is of a cheap variety. Just sayin'.

Enter the Zombie Wine Stopper from Neato Shop...which is quite epic. (Hey, no one says that a green gadget has to be high tech!) Check out the details:

  • Wine bottle cork or bottle stopper shaped like a zombie hand rising from the ground
  • Exquisite level of gory details - handcrafted by local indie artists
  • Material: tough urethane resin and cork
  • Unique: no two are exactly alike - paint details may vary as it is hand painted
  • Size: 1-1/4" dia. x 5" (3 cm dia. x 12.5 cm)
  • Fits most wine bottles

Utilizing low-impact and renewable natural cork (instead of those stupid looking synthetic plastic-based corks) and hand-crafting these corks makes me feel good about featuring this as a truly green, albeit low-tech Green Gadget of the Week.

What's your favorite tip to keep your tasty wine fresh?
