Greenpeace "Strips" In Protest of Nike, Adidas

Picture_1.pngAs PETA has so aptly illustrated over the years, if you want to catch the world's attention, take off most of your clothes.

On Saturday, July 23rd, protestors in 29 cities participated in a "striptease" outside of various Adidis and Nike stores. The protest was part of Greenpeace's new Detox campaign, which focuses on several companies (including Adidis and Nike) who Greenpeace alleges, "leak waste contaminated by the production process into China's rivers."

A year-long investigation titled "Dirty Laundry" proceeded the stunt, and while Nike has come right out and denied using any sort of harmful pollutants in their production, Adidas has since said that they're "investigating the claims."

Greenpeace focused on the two sports giants because of their name recognition, and hopes that if they change their practicies, other companies will be forced to follow suit.
