guest_bloggers-510977250-1282682569.jpgIt's Friday – and we all know what that means – high-fiving your coworkers on your way to the bathroom. What's also monumental about today is that it's the last Friday in August! Fall is creeping in, so make sure you spend this weekend high-fiving summer as well as reading about all of the weird and wacky nature news that popped up on Greenwala.

One of the strangest things we learned this week? Radioactive wild pigs are taking over Germany. OK, maybe "taking over" is the wrong word, but isn't that the first thing you think when you hear that an animal is radioactive? You think total world domination, right? Am I alone on this one? Maybe Nasa should stop making tubular skylights and start figuring out how to deal with a possible massive radioactive wild boar attack.

We also figured out that antibacterial socks exist, and right after that, we figured out that they're horrible for environment. But you know who isn't horrible for the Earth? Michelle Rodriguez. Sources tell us she's going vegan for an anti-whaling mission.

Speaking of the earth, we figured out how to go on a date with Mother Nature. While we're on that date, maybe we should ask her why she decided to create a pea-sized frog, or about that embarrassing beard she put all over a female gazelle – the only bearded gazelle that's ever been discovered.

And finally, we all had time to gasp in horror over a lady in the UK who thought it was a good idea to throw a cat in a dumpster, and sigh in resolve as we decided fall is going to be the season we – and our dogs – get in shape.

Now that you've caught yourself up on all the newest nature news, make sure you go outside and have one last fling with Summer. We promise, we won't tell.
