Vegan baker Danielle Konya, founder of Vegan Treats located in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania has landed a reality show on Animal Planet. The network signed her on for twelve episodes to begin this summer. I know what you're thinking, "another cupcake show?" Sure, why not? This show will feature vegan desserts and Danielle's dedication to provide other "sweet tooths" with a compassionate treat.
A baking show on Animal Planet? Well, it's Danielle's compassion towards animals that motivates her to make such sweet vegan treats. "Clearly, there's nothing appetizing about the needless suffering of ten billion animals a year for their flesh, milk and eggs. And there's really nothing tasty about aiding in the destruction of our environment for a cupcake. After all, the more one learns about the milk and egg industry, the more sickeningly un-sweet desserts made with them become." As of now, Danielle delivers to D.C., Baltimore, Philadelphia, and New York. Celebrities such as Daryl Hannah and Alicia Silverstone have already induldged in the amazing confections Vegan Treats offer. How lucky for me to live in Baltimore!
