Is it ever truly possible to improve on Mother Nature? In the world of fashion and personal jewelry enhancements, my how we've tried.
Dabbling in everything from precious metals and shiny bits of stone to chunks of amber and other assorted trinkets, we've adorned our heads, necks, ears, wrists, ankles and - in the last decade or so, even our brows, nostrils and faces - with shimmering jewels and baubles designed to make us glimmer and help us stand out in the crowd.

We've often taken great pains to excavate the deepest reaches of the earth in order to summon gold, silver, diamonds from its core...we've transformed the most valuable sparklers we could get our hot little hands on into outstanding examples of artistry and design...and yet still, sometimes simplicity wins out in the end.

Such is the case with Ceca Georgieva's inspirational collection of fully biodegradable green jewelry pieces and sculpural creations which demonstrate that with an artful eye for strategic arrangement, even blades of grass can reach new heights of artistic and fashion forward attractiveness.

The Bulgarian textile artist, considered an eco-art and green design queen in her native homeland, would easily garner praise on this side of the globe if more fashionistas were aware of her unique brand of oftentimes wearable eco-sculpture, so everybody sit up and pay close attention.

Each and every piece that she's fashioned with her own two hands is more outstanding than the next, and while her current collection showcases the gorgeous qualities of green seed pods, fresh leaves and assorted grasses, she has also explored the vast world of found eco-materials gathered right outside her studio by incorporating them into absolutely remarkable three dimensional sculptures.

While growing up, did you ever imagine that the eco-materials collected while on walks through the forest or even through the local park could come together in such a fine presentation? It's almost as if Georgieva channels the very essence of Mother Nature herself, bestowing burdock burrs and even plain old earth with such finesse and sophistication that they leap forward and announce their presence, "Ha! Look at me now!! I bet you'll never look at leaves and dirt the same way again!!!" If plucked leaves and grasses could talk, they'd be absolutely correct.
