With Prince Charles leading the way as an eco-warrior, I wondered if Willam and Kate would incorporate green concepts into their wedding day.
1. I was happy to read they will be using locally sourced flowers and re-plant trees that will line the aisles in Westminster Abbey.
2. The couple has asked for donations to charity in lieu of wedding gifts. This is becoming a fantastic trend and one which I hope will continue to grow. These are some terrific green minded causes.
3. The wedding cake, made by The Welsh National Culinary Team, will be organic and use locally sourced ingredients. One of my favorite bakers, Bakerella made adorable wedding pops which would make a beautiful addition to any happy occasion.
4. The couple will be printing all wedding related material on recycled paper. Lets hope even the toilet paper to wipe the royal bums will be recycled! :)
5. The 150 different types of canapes that will be served at Buckingham Palace will be locally sourced food that is organic and sustainable.
One last eco way the couple is choosing to go green for their wedding may be with Kate's wedding dress. Wedding watchers are speculating she will be wearing a dress made from peace silk or organic cotton. But right now only the designers and her inside circle know that secret. Wait till the wee hours of Friday morning to find out!
