1. Beef- According to a recent article published in 2007 in the Oxford journal, mothers who ate beef from conventionally raised cattle during their pregnancy with lower sperm count in their adult sons.  Authors of the study believe the lower sperm count is due to the hormones injected into the conventionally raised cattle.

2. Milk- Drinking organic milk not only prevents the consumption of pesticides, artificial hormones, and antibiotics.  It also provides extra omega-3s and beta-carotene.  By choosing to drink regular milk, pregnant women run the risk of incorporating these pesticides and artificial hormones into their breast milk.

3. Potatoes- Conventionally farmed white potatoes contain the highest levels of pesticide contamination.organic-potato-lg.jpg  By choosing organic potatoes, pregnant women can lower their exposure to these harmful pesticides.

4. Apples- Organic apples tend to have higher nutrient levels in comparison to conventional apples.  The more nutrients consumed during pregnancy, the better.

5. Soy- A large portion of today's soy is grown with pesticides.  It's largely important to avoid these pesticides and purchase organic soy.  Products made from organic soy beans can yield abundant nutrients and are extremely nutritious.
