Going green not only has to be at home, at the office, or at school, but also we could start applying it in the most important days of the year, like Fourth of July; what better way than going green on one of the most important days for United States.

Fourth of July is around the corner, so let’s see how you can start making those GREEN preparations, thanks to the article “8 Ways to Green 4th of July” by Amanda Wills.

1.  For this celebration use plates, cups, forks, spoons, and knives that your guests can use, and that you can wash and reuse again for another celebration or event.   Also, you can ask your guests if they would like to bring a dish for the celebration; that way everybody cooperates, takes their own dish, and enjoys of a fabulous lunch and dinner.  Not only that, but everybody can take their own glass, you could use that as a ticket to get in the party.

2.     2.  Celebrate outside, that way you do not have to waste energy and electricity. Enjoy the daylight, and at night do a bonfire.

3.     3.  Use propane for grilling.

4.     4.  Reuse your 4th of July decorations.  Please, do not throw them again.  We have a fourth of July every year, then no need to fill out the trash with something that you are going to end up buying again.

5.     5.  There is no way you are going to celebrate July 4th without fireworks; therefore, buy fireworks that are rich on Nitrogen, they cost more, but they cause less smoke in the environment.

6.     6.   Celebrate this important and unforgettable holiday in big groups.  Gather as many people as you can, that way there are less people wasting energy, and everybody will buy something different for the party, that way it will cost less for each person.

7.     7.  Use larger containers for everything.  Also, if you use bottle waters, then make sure that if you want more water, you have a container with filter water; that way you will not have to throw it away and get a new one.

8.     8.  And the most important thing, RECYCLE everything from plastic, cans, glass, cups, utensils, plates, and decorations, everything is reusable, so dont waste it.

Enjoy your Fourth of July, and help the environment as well by taking these tips into consideration.  Happy Fourth of July Everyone!
