This juicy fruit salad makes a light, scrumptious dessert, great for barbeques or picnics. It can be made with whatever local, seasonal fruits are available in your area, whether it’s peaches, plums, and strawberries in summer, apples and berries in fall, or citrus in winter. If necessary you can supplement with grocery store items, but try to keep the ingredients as local and organic as possible for maximum freshness and flavor.

Preparation:
Combine a total of 8 cups of any of the following fruits in a large bowl in bite-sized pieces:
Apples (any variety)
Orange slices
Tangerines
Clementines
Blueberries
Blackberries
Raspberries
Strawberries
Bananas
Grapes
Peaches
Plums
Figs
Pears
Asian pears
Apricots
In a separate bowl, prepare a mixture of the following:
Juice from 2 large lemons
3 tablespoons agave nectar or 2 tablespoons sugar
3 cups water
Pour mixture over fruit, cover well, and refrigerate for up to 8 hours. Note: Amount of liquid will increase as the fruits release their juices into the mixture. Flavors will combine into a delicious juicy base.
