MOUNTAIN TOP MINING HAS NO REGARD FOR NATURE OR YOU.
"The Obama administration signaled its determination to ensure that mining companies clean up their toxic debris as the Environmental Protection Agency announced plans to require the companies to post bonds to guarantee, in the words of an agency release, “that owners and operators of these facilities, not taxpayers, foot the bill for environmental change.”
Thank you Mr. President. The era of big profits before all else is over. The human and environmental costs have been tremendous and the ripple effect of pollution will be with us for generations. The new paradigm must have a transformed cost/benefit analysis foundation that takes into account the long-term, end-life-cycle of products and corporate decision-making on how they affect human health and our delicate, precious eco-systems.

The generators of the cause must bear the cost and responsility for their actions. The Wall Street gambling casino (keep profit margins up, below the line costs down no matter to whose detriment) will be reworked. Am I investing to get rich, unaware of the impact the corporation may be having on me and the environment and yet end up sick and dying because of what I am supporting in my financial decisions. Or am I investing to support and promote a greater healing and benefit for all! There will be just as much money to be made in this new green/sustainable future...perhaps more, but it will be more evenly distrubuted just by remembering our interconnectedness with all things and all people. We will have remain mindful t so thatwe don't get caught up again in the greed and deceipt in our rush to be the biggest and the "best" and to get out in front of the running bulls.
The urgency must be tempered with sound contemplation of the whole removing the blinkers that fuel our self-interest and egos. Pre-accounting for the end impact of our decisions in manufacturing, mining, packaging (indeed in our personal lives too) while keeping our hearts open to the greater web of life will be essential for the entire global corporate community. Individuals make up corporations. Collective power with a common goal has great purpose - as we care for nature, we care for ourselves.
