Earth Hour is tomorrow - How every hour can be earth hour.

earth_hour.jpgTomorrow is Earth Hour. We are supposed to turn off lights for one hour starting at 8:30 pm. With that in mind, many would wonder how switching off the lights for one hour a year helps. Question is, "Is this approach really the best way to tackle climate change ?"

The world is fast approaching a population of 9 billion people by 2050. China and India are the emeging economies. Does anyone really want to tell those who have experienced enegy poverty that they must now restrict their usage ?

Electricity has profited human civilization beyond measure.... if such benefits sound like basic human rights, it is because they often are.

In any case energy usage is not to blame for climate change; energy sources are. There would be no need to turn off lights if they were powered by clean, renewable energy sources.

With renewable energy, every hour can be Earth Hour.
