Today I’ll start coverage of the 2009 Greenbuild Expo in Phoenix. Day one was filled primarily with a long drive from Los Angeles to Phoenix (where I totally forgot about losing an hour when entering Arizona), but there were a few activities in the evening that kicked off festivities. My partner Aleida and I have many interviews lined up with product manufacturers though the week. This evening we spoke with Fireclay Tile and Aged Wood. Both are products we're familiar with, but have never specified them for a project. I’ll go into more detail on them later. During a quick walk through part of the exibit floor, we stopped to talk with Teragren (a bamboo material manufacturer), Green Design Center (a MA based green product retail store looking for franchisees), Mountain Lumber Co. (A reclaimed wood supplier), Built-e (a cork flooring company), Planet Reuse (a salvage material supplier), and Semper Green (a green roof company). I have photos and links to all which I’ll upload today. After our quick breeze through exhibitors, we spent the rest of the evening at a reception hosted by IceStone. As a result, we turned in pretty late. Trying to get in as much as possible in a very short time is par for Greenbuild, there’s just too much happening.

I’ll be back with more soon.
