This is a toddler bed made out of an old door, created by MyRepuposedLife.net.  After stripping away the paint, he primed it with a pink primer and then painted the door fire engine red.  He cut the door after priming to create the head board and foot board.  The little feet were created from an old crib spindle cut to size and then adhered to the wood. He used extra slats for the cleat to hold the bed in place and for the top of the head and foot boards.

Bed_with_slats.jpg The slats of wood are spaced apart to hold up the mattress.  He used brackets to attach the side panels to the head and foot boards.

I hope this cool DIY inspires you to repurpose items in your home into new and creative pieces.
