Studio 804 off the grid education

springfield-sustainable-home-ideas-1.jpgStudio 804 at University of Kansas School of Architecture and Urban Planning  is a design/build experience for students in their final year.  So in 2 semesters students are expected to finalize designs and then carry out the building process for an off the grid house. They re-used materials from an old ammunition plant, installing grey water recylcing, solar panels, wind turbines and geo-thermal heating and cooling.  The school has been conducting these classes over the last 10 years with many accolades from their field.  What an incredible education for these future architects to build in a conscious and eco friendly manner.  If you are interested the house is currently for sale...

Good work on this. Incoming architects must be more eco-friendly in making design for buildings. We cannot afford to lose our only habitat, and that is planet EARTH. Congratulations to University of Kansas School of Architecture and Urban Planning, you did a great job hear. Event thou I want to have that house, having an overnight loans [see: http://personalmoneystore.com/personal-loans/quick-loans/overnight-loans ] aren’t enough to buy it. Hope to see more architectural design like this in future generation.
